امارات.
(dotEmarat) is the Arabic equivalent of .AE domain extension, the country code top level domain (ccTLD)
of United Arab Emirates (UAE). Approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICAAN)
in earlier 2010, امارات. stands for a new era of Arabic Internet identity. With امارات.,
people are now able to use domain names entirely in Arabic characters.
امارات. presents a new opportunity to expand the number of Internet users and enhance the
Arabic identity for UAE. The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of UAE takes
امارات. launch as an important part of its strategy to support and enhance Arabic content on the
Internet. "Our objective is to support Arabic content over the internet and build a strong identity
for UAE and Arab countries across the World Wide Web. We encourage all companies and entities in the
UAE to register for '.ae' and Name (امارات.) '.emarat' as it represents their
local business identity and brings their country pride." Mohamed Naser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General.
